Professional Cookery Level 1 Diploma at West Herts College
If you have a passion for cooking and a genuine desire to be a chef, then this is the course for you. We’ll get you started in our professional training kitchens, helping you to develop the knowledge and practical skills you need for a career in the sector.
In the kitchen you’ll be trained to use a number of techniques on a wide range of food including:
Plus you’ll develop:
Practical English and maths skills for weighing, measuring and changing recipes
Skills for working life on GAP work placements
In addition to your main qualification you’ll gain awards in:
Food Safety, Health and Safety at Level 2
VRQ Level 1 Food and Beverage Service
This is a skill based course, where most students will traditionally need to start at level 1. You will also be required to attend a course introduction meeting.
Progress to the Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery.
