Media Studies at Kesteven Grantham's Girl School

Course description

Our world is media saturated. This course will enable you to understand the influence of mass communication through television, radio, film, the press, advertising and the internet, as well as the growing impact of new media technologies.

At AS: This course provides students with the opportunity to learn to ‘read’ the media and experience a wide range of topics including music, television, film and radio broadcast industries.

They will have the opportunity to independently research their own area of media interest, as well as exploring a range of current media issues and producing their own practical production.

Entry requirements

The normal criteria for entry are: Passes at A*- C in both English and mathematics 6 A*- B grade GCSEs A grade B or above in the subjects you wish to study at Advanced level.
