Brickwork City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College
Learners will gain a full insight into the construction industry and gain the necessary knowledge and skills to acheive a Level 2 qualification in Brickwork
On the course you will study: Health, Safety and welfare that will cover your own and employers responsibilities and the Principles of building construction, information and communication that will cover topics in: Types of building information; Environmental considerations; Construction of foundations; Construction of internal and external walls; Construction of floors; Construction of roofs and Communication using terminology for construction Scientifics and engineering principles.
Learners will have to have a sponsored work placement and attend an interview with a member of the Brickwork team. To successfully achieve the Qualification a minimum attendance of 90% is expected, in addition all personal PPE, writing paper, drawing equipment and scale rule must be brought to all sessions.
Assessment is via completion of coursework and portfolio, practical assessments, practical phase test and end of unit multiple choice exam. Assessment for the NVQ is achieved by assessment in the workplace, and building a portfolio of evidence.
Learners will have to provide their own stationery equipment including writing paper, pens, HB and 2H pencils, lever arch file, Architects scale rule, Personal Protective equipment to include high-Vis vest, safety boots/shoes and recommended textbooks.

This could be help with the cost of travel, books, materials, equipment, uniforms, childcare and examination and registration fees. Successful completion of the course will lead onto the Diploma and NVQ Level 3 in Brickwork.
