Course description

Do you love going above and beyond when it comes to customer service? This course will teach you the skills needed to pursue a career in the food and drink industry.

This course is designed to equip you with the skills to work within the Food and Drink Service Industry. Do you love going above and beyond within customer service? Is the exciting, fast paced industry of hospitality something you wish to pursue? Then this course is the right step on your journey.

As part of this course you will have the opportunity to undertake placements both locally and abroad in Europe. You will gain practical work experience in hotels, restaurants and bars, preparing you for a career within this industry.

Course content

On this course you will study:

  • Principles and provision of customer service
  • Food and Beverage service skills
  • Barista skills
  • Alcoholic beverage knowledge and service
  • Menu and product knowledge
  • Health and Safety and Food Hygiene
  • Legislation


Entry requirements

Students are required to have an interest in the subject and ideally a minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade D or above.

You will need to be determined, passionate and driven about food and drink service and a commitment to deliver exceptional customer service.

You may have to undertake English and Maths alongside this course if you do not have the required grades.


You will be continually assessed through practical observation, short answer question exams and assignments.

Your tutor you will be on hand throughout this course to support you.

Future opportunities

After successfully completing this course you will be able to progress onto our Level 3 Diploma in Supervision of Professional Food and Drink Service.

Alternatively you could seek an Apprenticeship at Level 3 or seek employment with your newfound skills within the Hotel, Bar and Restaurant industry.
