Fashion Retail Level 3 Diploma at Preston's College

Course description

Our flagship course in Fashion Retail offers an exciting blend of in college study, external outlet visits, industry guest speakers and real world projects in Preston’s city centre. You will gain the skills and knowledge required to work in this fast paced industry through a range of work experience opportunities such as working in the College’s onsite retail outlets, Mooch and The One Shop.

Course content

You will learn the latest techniques used by retailers as well as have the opportunity to portray and test your learning through demonstrations and display work in our onsite commercial outlets. Topics covered range from the psychological effects of window dressing and shop displays to the understanding of how history has influenced fashion trends over the years. In addition to this, you will also learn about visual merchandising, product planning and stock control.

Entry requirements

You need five GCSEs at A*-C grade including English or maths with a minimum grade D for the other subject.

Future opportunities

You may progress directly into industry or pursue further study on degree courses in retail, fashion or business. Alternatively, you can supplement your UCAS points by completing a 90 credit Diploma in Business.
