Health and Social 90 Credit Diploma at Berkshire College of Agriculture

Course description

Health and Social Care students at BCA have the opportunity of learning with experienced health and social care professionals to enable them to progress to the career of their choice.

Professional speakers visit the department to enrich the vocational training offered here. Our students also benefit from a flourishing exchange programme with a college in Bavaria in Germany where they can acquire an international perspective on health and social care issues.

get qualified.

Course content

This academic course is a recognised entry qualification into university and has been designed specifically for those who have an interest in nursing or healthcare. This course will enable you to develop your interpersonal and communication skills as well as providing the theoretical knowledge behind Health and Social Care.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs or equivalent at C grade or above to include maths and English.
If learners wish to progress to university to study nursing or any other health related discipline at a later date, then science at C grade or above must be included as one of your 5 grades.

Future opportunities

For the 90 Credit Diploma course, there are progression opportunities to the full Extended Diploma or on to an Apprenticeship in Health & Social Care. Progression to the full diploma will depend on attendance and timely completion of work. For learners who already have UCAS points attached to ‘AS’ levels, the 90 credit Diploma can allow progression to Higher Education.

The Extended Diploma allows progression into both Higher Education and direct employment. The course carries a maximum of 420 UCAS points.

*There are options for learners to study a 1 year 60 credit subsidiary diploma or 90 credit diploma qualification.
