Beauty Therapy Level 1 at Lincoln College

Course description

If you want to pursue a career as a beauty therapist, this would be the ideal place to start. Taught in our industry standard salons by our experienced staff, you will be in a supported, encouraging environment developing your potential skills both personally and professionally where your individual strengths will evolve. This course has been designed to be a practical as possible and to introduce you to a wide range of treatments and building your confidence. 
Successful completion of the Level 1 programme may lead to a Level 2 qualification in Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing or Retail and Commercial. You may also be able to progress onto an apprenticeship. This is dependent upon full completion of all units of the current qualification and satisfactory conduct and attendance throughout the year.
During this course, you will study: Health and Safety; Reception Duties; Working With Others; Skin Care; Manicure and Pedicure; Make-Up; Nail Art and Photographic Make-Up. 

Entry requirements

You will need 2 GCSE’s (minimum Grade D). You will also be required to pass a skills test as-well as be screened in Maths and English.
You will be required to attend an interview/experience day and provide a reference (from an employer or recent school/college report).


Assessment is a combination of assignments and practical activities.
