Art A Level at Stationers Crown Woods Academy

Course description

YOU ARE A creative, imaginative, independent thinker who is able to express ideas through practical responses. You will be inventive, willing to take risks and be able to ‘think outside the box’.

Course content

A highly established and successful course that is dynamic, demanding and very popular. A course in which you will be encouraged to develop your skills across painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking and installation to realise your intentions through highly finished and exciting work.


Entry requirements

A minimum of grade C in Art but ideally a grade B or above at GCSE.


The course is 60% coursework, 40% exam. It is made up of 4 units of work spread over 2 years including a response to a given stimulus, a personal study and your own response to an artist and style.

Future opportunities

An architect, fashion designer, artist, special effects technician, teacher. You might work in advertising, making props or make-up for theatres and performances.
