Travel & Tourism (City & Guilds) Advanced National Diploma at Solihull College & University Centre

Course description

The Level 3 Advanced course in Travel & Tourism covers modules including events, conferencing, overseas representation and adventure tourism, as well as polishing your credentials from previous Diplomas.

You will take your knowledge gained from previous Diplomas or studies and apply them at this advanced level, to round off your overall awareness of the travel sector, preparing you for a career in the industry directly after completion, or, should you wish, a platform to study in a higher education capacity.

Course content

You will study a range of subjects relevant to the industry such as:

- Worldwide Adventure Tourism,
- Overseas Representatives,
- Holiday Park Host,
- Conference and Event,
- The Cruise Sector.

Entry requirements

Successful completion of the City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Travel & Tourism.

You will need to have a suitable reference and undertake a successful interview.


To pass this course you will be assessed via practical assignments, course work and Worldwide Tourist Destinations will be an online test.

Future opportunities

If you are successful on this course, you will be able to continue studying towards Level 3 Advanced National Diploma in Travel and Tourism.

This will enable you to apply for Higher Education or pursue employment within the Travel and Tourism Industry.

Further information

You will need to dress smartly and wear an appropriate uniform. You will be expected to attend all day trips throughout the year and the residential study visit.

There will be an additional cost of £400 to cover the cost of all trips and travel for the academic year.

You will also be required to purchase a uniform details of which will be given upon successful completion of the Welcome Day.

Good levels of English and Maths are important for your success in your course, your chosen vocation and life. Throughout your course you will continue to develop your English and Maths skills in your vocational classes.

If you haven't achieved an A*/9 - C/4 grade in English or Maths at GCSE, or a Level 2 Functional Skill, you will also be working towards a qualification in English or Maths at a level that will enable you to progress towards these grades.
