Music Technology at The Brunts Academy
Music technology plays a key role in music across the world. This qualification (the only Advanced Subsidiary and Advanced level GCE in Music Technology) is designed to open up a range of exciting and useful tasks to a wide candidature, and to encourage students to learn about the subject.
Students, including those who do not play a traditional instrument, are encouraged to explore their musicality and create original materials using technology. This specification places an emphasis on practical tasks appropriate to styles of music that use music technology.
Students with an interest in music production who have had some experience with recording and sequencing as part of level 2 qualifications including GCSE music and NCFE music technology.
They will have used digital audio workstations such as Cubase or Reason.
They will have a positive attitude to learning and be good at working as part of a team.
They will also have a minimum of grade B in English Language and Maths.
