Economics and Business Studies A2 at Warlingham School

Course description

The course offers a progressive and integrated framework for students to investigate how and why businesses operate within an economy. Students develop an understanding of relevant economic and business concepts, and an ability to apply them to real world issues. There is emphasis on the nature and processes of decision making within organisations. Business behaviour is studied from the perspectives of all stakeholders, including shareholders, managers, customers and the local community. In the second year students will continue studying the competitive market. They will also be introduced to the world of international business and the issues which a company trading internationally has to face. Assessment Format Written exam x 2 50%

GCSE Grade B or above in English and Maths

Future opportunities

You could take this course with other advanced level courses to prepare foe higher education in areas of Economics, Business Studies, Accounting, Marketing or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to economics, business, marketing, finance and accounting, human resources and public relations. You could also look at doing a trainee management course within a business to gain the skills, understanding and experience that they require so you can progress to working at management level.
