The AS Level in Physics A specification content is divided into four teaching modules.
Modules include: Development of practical skills in Physics; Foundations of Physics; Forces and motion; Electrons, waves and photons.
The A Level in Physics A specification content is divided into six teaching modules.
Modules include: Development of practical skills in Physics; Foundations of Physics; Forces and motion; Electrons, waves and photons; Newtonian world and astrophysics; Particles and medical physics.
Practical endorsement for Physics – this non-exam assessment component rewards the development of practical competency for Physics and is teacher assessed, over 12 assessed practical tasks.
BB in Science A and Additional Science as a minimum.
Unit 1: Breadth in Physics – 1h 30min written paper (50%)
Unit 2: Depth in Physics – 1h 30min written paper (50%)
Unit 1: Modelling Physics – 2h 15min written paper (37%)
Unit 2: Explaining Physics – 2h 15min written paper (37%)
Unit 3: Unified Physics – 1h 30min written paper (26%)
Unit 4: Practical endorsement for Physics – in class practical assessment
throughout the course (Pass/Fail)
