Physics at Bodmin College
During the AS course students study sensing circuits, materials, optics and how data is stored and transmitted in the context of computer technology and material uses. This is followed by work on kinematics and quantum electrodynamics.
The A2 course looks back at how scientific ideas have changed and how we are continuing to look deeper into matter.
This covers: capacitors, radioactive decay, periodic motion, thermal and nuclear physics.
This also includes a practical study on an area of physics chosen by the students themselves.
Students are expected to have a genuine interest in the subject and a high grade (A*-B) in GCSE maths and science.
