Course description

This course covers the basics of Carpentry & Joinery. You will study safe working practices, building methods and produce basic woodworking joints. You will also learn how to maintain and use hand tools and how to use portable power tools.

Entry requirements

You will need a level 1 diploma in carpentry and joinery.

Assessment

This course is assessed by practical work and a portfolio of evidence.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of the course and gaining employment within the joinery industry you can then progress onto an apprenticeship. Alternatively, you can progress onto the Level 3 Bench Joinery Diploma.
