Psychology AS/A2 at Tech City College

Course description

Ever wondered how your memory works? Or why good people can do evil things? If the answer is yes, then this could be the course for you. Psychology is the scientific study of human mind and behaviour: how we think, feel, act and interact individually and in groups. Psychology is a science and psychologists study human behaviour by observing, measuring and testing, then arriving at conclusions that are rooted in sound scientific methodology. Topics covered include memory, developmental psychology and research methods, with the opportunity to study one mental disorder in depth at A2-level.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at grade C or above including a minimum grade B in English, Maths and Science.


You will be assessed through written examination.

Future opportunities

A-level Psychology is a very combines well with many subjects and is particularly helpful if you want to study media, sociology, biology or physical education at degree level. It is a fascinating and challenging subject, which appeals to both scientists and non-scientists. It is relevant for a wide range of careers including the health service, caring professions, police and social services, as well as business, education, advertising, media and law.
