Course description

Training is ideal for apprentices taking a first job in a customer services environment .

Communicating effectively with customers face to face, in writing, or by telephone, resolving problems and improving customer relations, promoting products and services, keeping records, gathering customer feedback, working in a team, developing complementary technical skills according to job role.

Course content

Method of Delivery: Work based learning although some elements of the qualification may be delivered at a Training Centre along with functional skills (if applicable).

The qualification is made up of the following units;

Mandatory Units:

  • Deliver Customer Service
  • Understand Customers
  • Principles of Customer Service
  • Understand Employer Organisations
  • Manage Personal Performance and Development

Optional units:

  • Provide Reception Services
  • Support Customers Through Real-Time Online Customer Service
  • Promote Additional Products and/or Services to Customers
  • Gather, Analyse and Interpret Customer Feedback
  • Develop Working Relationships with Colleagues

A full extensive unit range will be made available after initial contact and the final selection of modules will be agreed with the employer to ensure the qualification is tailored to the role.
Typical duration of apprenticeship 12-18months

Entry requirements

Maths and English grade D/5+ or above

Assessment

The qualification is delivered and assessed in the work place. An assessor would visit at regular intervals and provide advice and guidance to support the apprentice to meet the standards required.

The assessment process includes;

Functional Skills supported off the job if required (Maths, English and ICT)

  • Monthly assessor visits
  • Quarterly reviews with employer and apprentice
  • Progress is monitored through an e-portfolio that the employer can also utilise
