Travel and Tourism BTEC Level 2 at John Madejski Academy

Course description

This course provides the opportunity to complete the first steps towards a career in retail or business travel. You’ll learn essential skills such as business awareness, customer service and understanding destinations in the UK. This course should inspire and enthuse students through providing the opportunity to gain a broad knowledge of the skills required for a career in the travel and tourism sector. Units covered include coverage of the contribution that travel and tourism makes to the UK economy, assessment of a range of tourist destinations both nationally and internationally, and the factors that affect worldwide travel and tourism.

Course content

Through a combination of practical experience and written assignments, these vocational qualifications provide level 2 learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding needed for a career in the travel or tourism sector.

Future opportunities

Completion of this qualification will give learners the potential opportunity, in due course, to enter employment within a wide range of junior job roles across the travel and tourism sector, for example:
