Hospitality Services Apprenticeship Level 2 at Stratford-upon-Avon College
Our Level 2 Apprenticeship in Hospitality Services will allow you to kick start your career in the Hospitality and Catering Sector whilst gaining industry standard qualifications.
Our course covers a wide range of posts within the industry, for example:
- Catering Assistant
- Food and Beverage – Working on the bar serving food and Beverages
- Front of House – Waiter/waitressing, serving food and beverages
It also covers a broad range of workplace environments such as Hotels, Schools and Nursing Homes.
This qualification is perfect for those who work across many areas within the hospitality and catering of a business. The course will provide you with a high standard of skills ranging from meeting and greeting customers, maintaining a safe and hygienic environment, working effectively within a team, serving food and drinks (including alcohol) and preparing hot and cold food. Alongside this, you’ll also learn other workplace skills essential to the trade, such laying a table and learning the correct methods of pouring alcoholic drinks.
This Apprenticeship in Hospitality Services is aimed at anyone who works within the catering and hospitality sector. It is ideal for learners coming straight from school and those who wish to seek a career in this industry.
This Apprenticeship Framework consists of the following components:
NVQ Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality
Technical Certificate Level 2 Technical Certificate in the Principles of the Hospitality and Catering Sector (Hospitality)
*Functional Skills Level 1 in Mathematics and Level 1 in English
*To help us ensure that all students reach their full potential and are equipped to develop their skills further within the industry, all learners who have not already achieved a Level 2 in English and Mathematics will have extra tuition to help them achieve a Level 2 in these subjects. Functional Skills are only applicable to learners who have not already achieved GCSE grade A-C in English and Maths (or equivalent).
To achieve the NVQ element of this course, you are required to complete a series of units which are then assessed in conjunction with observations in the workplace, to ensure you are able to demonstrate practical skills and knowledge.
To achieve the Technical Certificate and Functional Skill components, you will be required to undergo a series of formal tests. All knowledge to achieve these components will be gained alongside the NVQ. Testing will commence at College and you may be required to attend Functional Skill session at College.
