Art (3D Design/Ceramics & Sculpture) - AS/A2 Level at The Parker E-act Academy

Course description

This course will take you into the world of large and small scale Fine Art 3D objects. By exploring a challenging range of themes, you will become familiar with working in three dimensions using a variety of materials including clay, wire, wood, card and plaster, while taking inspiration from the work of established artists and designers and producing a sketchbook of investigations. Assessment is based on coursework and exams, held at the end of each year.

Course content

You will produce a selection of work that shows development of knowledge skills and understanding in the relevant area. You will be given the opportunity to explore, research and acquire new skills.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at Grades A*- C (or equivalent) which preferably will include GCSE Art or Design


Using a personal and individual response, you'll produce a selection of coursework, a controlled assignment under exam conditions, a major in-depth study of an aspect of particular interest, and a controlled test produced over a 15 hour period. You'll need to be imaginative, intuitive, aware of other artists' work, both past and present, and willing to put in extra hours.
