What qualifications will I gain?
The Barbering Apprenticeship is made up of the following elements:
- NVQ in Barbering
- Functional Maths
- Functional English
- Personal Learning & Thinking Skills
This is a full-time, permanent work-based Apprenticeship in barbering. You enjoy on-the-job training towards nationally recognised qualifications at Levels 2 and 3, guided by our professional assessors who provide one-to-one support and advice throughout your programme.
Apprentices usually start their training at Level 2, depending on their qualifications and ability. This is identified at an initial assessment.
What skills will I learn?
The course content will vary depending on the needs of the job and can include:
- Shampooing and conditioning
- Cutting and trimming
- Cut throat shaving
- Assisting with colouring
- Reception duties
- Consultations with clients
- Selling hair care products
Who should apply?
Anyone can apply for this course who is interested in a barbering career path. As long as you are aged 16 to 64 and not in full-time education at the time you want to start your Apprenticeship we can help. You might already have a job and be looking for work-based training, or you might want to find a job that comes with training through esg.
