Find out about unique moral theories, discuss moral dilemmas and investigate ethical
issues. Join us and consider the questions you never thought you would be asked.
AS Level - Students will study 2 units:
Unit 1- Philosophy of Religion
Unit 2- Religious Ethics
The Philosophy unit covers
- Ancient Greek influences on philosophy of religion
- Judaeo-Christian influences on philosophy of religion
- Traditional arguments for the existence of God
- Challenges to religious belief
The Ethics Unit covers
- Ethical theories
- Applied ethics topics
Course Assessment
AS Level
Each of the TWO units will be assessed with an examination lasting 1hour 30 minutes.
The candidate will answer two questions from a choice of four.A Level - Students will study 2 units:
Unit 1- Philosophy of Religion
Unit 2- Religious Ethics
The Philosophy unit covers
- Religious language
- Experience and religion
- Nature of God
- Life and death
- Miracle
The Ethics unit covers
- Meta-Ethics
- Free will and determinism
- Conscience
- Virtue ethics
- Applied ethics topics
A Level
Each of the TWO units will be assessed with an examination lasting 1hour 30 minutes.
The candidate will answer two questions from a choice of four.

Entry requirements

College entry requirements: 6 GCSE s at grades A*-C in six
different subjects including English and Maths
+ GCSE Grade C in Religious Studies
