Plastering - Level 1 at Middlesbrough College
This course is designed to prepare you for work in the Construction Industry with a progression route leading to the Level 2 Diploma in Plastering. The course has been specifically developed for delivery in a training environment using simulated conditions and the assessment is based on the students demonstrating technical skills and abilities.
Health, safety and welfare in construction Principles of building construction, information and communication Applying scratch coats to internal backgrounds Applying floating coats to wall Applying setting coats to wall Prepare background surfaces and mix plastering materials Fixing sheet materials
4 GCSE’s with a minimum grade of E including Maths, English Language and Science and satisfactory references. Minimum of E3 initial assessment for Maths and English. "If you do not have a Grade A to C in English and/or Maths, you will be required to continue studying these subjects as part of your Study Programme."
Coursework, practical and written examinations and a multiple-choice online exam.
Upon successful completion of your Level 1 Plastering course you can progress to further study on the Level 2 Diploma in Plastering/Dry Lining or associated trades. Or an NVQ Level 2 qualification if employment is gained with a Plastering company. The College Careers Service is available to all our students. We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into higher education.
