Biology (Higher and Standard) at The Sixth Form College Colchester

Course description

These courses combine a study of basic biological topics with a consideration of some recent advances. Topics covered include: cells, chemistry of life, genetics, evolution, biodiversity, ecology and human health and physiology. The course also includes up to 60 hous of practical investigations, some of which will form part of the internal assessment. It is hoped students will acquire a large body of facts and at the same time develop a broad, general understanding of the principles of Biology. 

Entry requirements

The entry requirements for the IB Diploma are broadly the same as for a 4 AS programme. However, students will normally need to have C or above passes in English or English Language, Maths, Science and in a modern foreign language (where taken).
