Beauty Therapy NVQ, Level 2 at Tomlinscote School and Sixth Form College

Course description

The aim of the qualification is to provide candidates with the opportunity to learn experientially in this subject area and it is expected that they be engaged in beauty therapy practice. It is envisaged that candidates will be working in an assisting capacity but that they will complete more complex tasks under supervision. Candidates are provided with a choice of optional units to ensure that the qualification corresponds with their working practice. Core Units - Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety - Promote additional products or services to clients - Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work Mandatory Units (relating to which pathway you wish to take) Beauty Therapy General Pathway - Improve and maintain facial skin condition - Provide eyelash and eyebrow treatments - Remove hair using waxing techniques - Provide manicure treatment - Provide pedicure treatment Beauty Therapy Make-Up Pathway - Plan and promote make-up activities - Enhance the appearance of eyebrows and lashes - Improve and maintain facial skin condition - Provide make-up treatment Optional units - Plan and promote make-up activities - Provide nail art service - Pierce ears - Assist with spa treatments - Extend, maintain and repair nails - Provide eyelash and eyebrow treatments - Remove hair using waxing techniques - Provide manicure treatment - Provide pedicure treatment - Provide make-up treatment - Fulfil salon reception duties
