Motor Vehicle Studies at Eggbuckland Community College

Course description

We have an ever-increasing number of cars on our roads today. These cars need to be serviced, maintained and kept safe. Motor vehicle courses will introduce you to the knowledge and help you to develop the skills necessary to become an expert motor vehicle technician including an introduction to motor vehicle workshop safety, the maintenance and repair industry, workshop tools and equipment, engine components and operation, steering and suspension, cooling and lubrication systems, braking system and wheels and tyres.

Entry requirements

 You will need to develop very good practical skills and have the determination to persevere with intricate problems Some mathematical skills will be useful as calculations will be used Increasingly, computers are being used to diagnose faults. Therefore, IT skills are becoming more important
