Level 1 Diploma in an Introduction to Beauty Therapy (Beauty) at Ashford College

Course description

Develop your practical skills and a professional image with this solid introduction to the beauty industry.

You will start with an insight into salon duties and health and safety issues, and then learn how to help with facial and nail treatments.

Subject areas include:

• Basic skincare, basic nail care
• Basic make-up skills
• Face painting
• Underpinning theory knowledge
• Anatomy and physiology
• Work experience

We will also help you achieve a Grade C/4 in GCSE in English and maths, if you don’t have these yet. You will need to buy specialist equipment and clothing.

Entry requirements

You will need two GCSEs at Grades E/2 or above, including English and maths or have achieved a full Entry 3 or Level 1 qualification previously with the college.

Your enrolment is subject to a successful interview, references and skills assessment.

Future opportunities

Progress to a Level 2 course or an Apprenticeship.
