Course description

The course uses a combination of analysis, research, theory and creative work to study examples from TV and film, and popular culture in general, examining their production, form and reception. It would be a good choice for anyone interested in the media and its role in culture and society, and a good start for anyone aspiring to work in the creative industries.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs in the A* – C range, including Maths and English at grade C or above.

There are no specific requirements for this subject but you will have to have an interest in all forms of media and in popular culture in general.

Future opportunities

You will be able to pursue higher education opportunities in media across a range of specialisms at top-flight universities or remain in the region to study the FdA Media Production at Bridgwater College.
