WJEC Retail Business Level 2 at Nottingham Academy

Course description

You have the opportunity to develop skills to use within a
retail or business environment. You will learn about many
aspects of retailing such as promoting, branding, customer
service and visual merchandising. Additionally, you will be able
to develop team work skills, presentation skills as well as
problem solving and creative skills such as designing displays
for a company.

Course content


During the course you will study the importance of customer
service and retail operations. You will learn about how retail
businesses are organised and how this can impact on the
success of their operations.

Units studied
– Unit 1: Customer Experience.
– Unit 2: Retail Business.
– Unit 3: Retail Operations.

Entry requirements

Usually 5 GCSE passes, however, applications will be taken into
consideration depending on previous educational background.

Assessment

Assessment is through producing a portfolio of coursework
which is completed under controlled conditions. You will have
to produce reports and deliver presentations to address the set
tasks by the exam board. There will also be an examination
which makes up 25% of the overall grade.

Future opportunities

This course leads on to further education, and past students
have gone on to study business at level 3 as well as college
courses and employment in retail organisations.
