Creative Media Production (TV & Film) BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate at Strode's College

Course description

This two year course, allows you to work on a variety of television and film productions such as music videos, promotional videos, short dramas, documentaries and adverts. You research, develop ideas, conduct pre-production planning, film and edit your work.

NB: This course is 100% coursework based and mostly practical. It is for students with a genuine interest in moving image for Television and Film. This coursework does not cover print based media.

Course content

This is an ideal course to prepare you for work in the Media industry. Work as a key member of a production team using broadcast standard cameras and develop sound and lighting techniques.

Entry requirements

General entry requirements for a Level 3 Pathway, including a grade C in English Language GCSE or a Merit in Level 2 Creative and Media BTEC.

Assessment

10 units of which four are mandatory and 2 are externally assessed.

Future opportunities

Our most successful students are those who have completed work experience during the course as well as creating a detailed portfolio. Students go on to work in Media and Film based environments. Many of our students have also gone on to study Film and Media Production at university.
