Geography A Level at Bordesley Green Girls' School & Sixth Form

Course description

You will be learning about contemporary geographical issues, about people and the environment. In AS Level you will focus upon managing physical environments and the processes and changes such environments face. The second unit is about managing human issues, such as migration and population increase. In A2 Level, you will study global issues that are topical and are in the news. You will also have a piece of fieldwork as part of the unit 'Geographical Skills.'

Entry requirements

>Grade 5 in English Language desirable but overall GCSE/Level 2 performance is considered

>Grade C in Geography GCSE

Financial information

16-18 card for reduced fare on public transport (offered by TWM on Buses only)

School Bursary may be available (subject to qualifying criteria)


Future opportunities

Public or private sector employment eg teachingMany students go on to look at higher education in Geography and related subjects like other Humanities, Sciences or Social Science. Some students may go on to private/public employment or training. Geography helps to develop a range of skills employers and higher education establishments look for.
