English Language and Literature A Level at Oakbank School
Course description
Students will study language and literature using an anthology of literary and non-literary texts, and a pair of texts (pre- and post-1914). Our studies will focus upon the ways in which different writers and speakers have approached similar subjects and the ways in which language and style are affected by change over time and contextual variation.
Entry requirements
Minimum of grade B in GCSE English, English Language or English Literature.
Assessment
- 60% - 1hr 30min Written Paper with two compulsory questions on the Anthology
- 40% Written coursework including analytical and creative writing
