Travel and Tourism Level 2 C&G Diploma at Mid Cheshire College

Course description

You will study the following modules.
• The UK Travel & Tourism Industry
• Worldwide Destinations
• Customer Service in Travel & Tourism
• Marketing in Travel & Tourism
• European Holiday Destinations
• Preparing for Employment
• Exploring airports and airlines
• Holiday Reps
• Overseas Holiday Operations

The programme includes taught classes, visits to employers, tourist attractions and residential study visits.

Course content

This course includes a Study Programme to provide learners with a coherent and enriching curriculum which will provide them with the academic, social and employability skills to progress to further or higher education or employment.

The content of the study programme is designed to broaden the learner experience beyond the main qualification of study.

The key theme of Study Programmes at Level 2 will be the development of occupational skills in a selected vocational area and the development of personal, social and employability skills with a view to raising aspirations.

As well as your core qualification you will study GCSE or Functional Skills English or Maths plus English and maths development as part of the core qualification.

Learners will also undertake personal progress planning and pastoral education. Plus additional personal development activity which may include work experience and projects.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade D or above or equivalent.


Assessment will be through projects, assignments, individual and group work. There are no examinations on this course. Final assessment is based on a portfolio of work which you will produce over the year.

Future opportunities

You will be able to progress on to the Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Travel & Tourism, into employment as a travel agent or resort representative.
