Health and Social Care AQA AS Level at Poynton High School
You will learn to use a variety of transferable skills throughout the course, which include collecting, analysing and interpreting data and communicating findings in different ways. You will undertake individual research as well as taking part in group
activities and tutorials. There will be a heavy emphasis on you being responsible for your own learning, meeting deadlines and managing your portfolio of evidence. Your progress will be monitored carefully and you will be given regular feedback ensuring constant
progression and improvement. The success rate on this course is very high.
- 5 grade Cs or above at GCSE level, Grade C in English Language is desirable.

Having a good insight into a variety of career opportunities during the course you may wish to enter into employment directly. Alternatively you may wish to progress to Higher Education and undertake professional training to follow a career in areas such
as nursing, childcare, teaching, social work, welfare and therapeutic services.
