Drama and Theatre A Level at Imberhorne School

Course description

This course is about making and understanding theatre and learning about how it reflects the world around us. The course is both practical and there is a significant amount of theory and writing.

Course content

You will explore two contrasting set plays and will write about them in a written examination. You will also see a range of live theatre and analyse and evaluate the actors' skills and design techniques used. Additionally there is a strong practical element to the course and you will perform both scripted and devised work to public audiences.

Entry requirements

To study this subject you will need a minimum of five GCSE subjects Grade A*‐C including English. A*‐C in GCSE Dance would be an advantage but not essential. Applicants will needto attend a dance workshop to ensure the course is suitable for them.
