History - Modern at Andover College
Students will learn about the rise of extreme ideologies (including Fascism and Communism), changes in attitudes within British society, and conflict between superpowers in the twentieth century.
Commitment - the ability and drive to carry out extra research outside of class time. A Level History is a big step-up from GCSE History, and due to the level of analysis and range of content covered in the course, it is imperative that students have a high level of attendance.
AS year: Trip to the Holocaust Exhibition at the Imperial War Museum in London
A2 year: Trip to Berlin to visit a variety of historical sites, including: remnants of the Berlin Wall, the Reichstag, Checkpoint Charlie and Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp
5 A* – C grades at GCSE including a grade C or above in English and at least one Humanities subject.Interview Required: Yes
