Fine Art A level at Stokesley School

Course description

This is primarily a practical course through which students will: Develop personal ideas via the focused investigation of a variety of diverse starting points. Be able to explore a broad range of materials, media and processes, including: drawing and painting, mixed media, sculpting, digital photography and image manipulation, as well as any other area relevant to a students ideas or interest. Be exposed to the work of artists across art history, including at first hand through gallery visits, and will be asked to analyse and evaluate images in visual and written formats as well as make links between their own work and that of those they study.

Be expected to develop presentation skills via a portfolio of work, sketchbooks and an exhibition of final outcomes.
