Painting and Decorating Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship at Northumberland College

Course description

This course is for anyone who works in the painting and decorating industry who would like to gain a level 3 qualification.

Course content

You will study safe working practices in construction, building methods and construction technology, how to erect and dismantle access and working platforms, apply paint systems by brush and roller, apply papers to walls and ceilings, specialist decorative finishes, specialist architectural feature work, apply water-borne paint systems using air-less equipment and surface preparation. Ideal if you are employed as a painter and decorator and wish to develop higher level skills.

Entry requirements

You should have a relevant Level 2 qualification and be employed in the industry.

Assessment

You will be assessed by practical assessments on site and in the workshop, multiple choice question papers, practical skills test and an online diploma test.

Future opportunities

After successfully completing the course you could progress into employment or self-employment in the painting and decorating industry.
