AAT Accounting Level 2 Certificate at Aylesbury College

Course description

This qualification is accredited by the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) who is the recognised professional body for staff employed in a range of roles in finance and accounting. Members of the AAT are fully qualified accounting technicians.

Course content

You will gain essential skills to start work in an accounting environment. This course is suitable for school leavers with a proven interest in accounts, as well as mature students and those wishing to return to work after a break. Full time students will also gain a BTEC qualification in Business and Accounting.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at C or above, including English and Maths. All participants must become student members of the AAT, , and have a proven interest in accountancy.


Many of the units are assessed by computer-based exams and the provisional results are available immediately or are marked by an assessor at the college.

Financial information

This course is also available on a part-time basis. Students are required to become members of AAT and the registration and subscription fee will be approximately £120. Purchase of books are optional.

Future opportunities

Completion of this course (with Level 2 Maths) will enable you to progress to Level 3.

You will be able to consider positions within the government sector, banking sector or accountancy practices.
