Traineeship at Bournville College

Course description

Traineeships are designed to enable learners to progress rapidly into employment or an Apprenticeship. They are comprised of three components, work placement, work preparation, English and Maths.

Course content

On this course you will study Personal and Social Development, Customer Service Skills, Work Preparation Skills, CV writing and Maths and English. These will give you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, although all learners are expected to show commitment to the course. All learners will be initially assessed prior to enrolment.

Assessment

Functional Skills are assessed by examination and BTEC and NCFE qualifications are assessed through completion of a portfolio.

Future opportunities

Functional Skills in Literacy and Numeracy are required to progress on to Apprenticeships as well as successful completion of work placement. Employers also recognise the value of these qualifications.
