AS level units
Sociological research methods: How do sociologists actually investigate societies? Family - What are the functions of the family? What is the ‘normal’ family? Does your family have an impact on your life? How do we learn to behave? How is your identity formed? How do you become you? What do sociologists think about how society is created.
A2 level units:
Education: Do we live in a meritocratic system? What is the role of education? How does your class/gender/ethnicity affect your education? Social Inequality: Is there a class system in Britain? If yes are the working class the underclass? Are we controlled by the upper class? Research Methods: How do we explore social inequality and difference
You will need a minimum of five GCSE passes including English at Grade C or above. You do not need a GCSE in Sociology to take this course.
