Applied Business Level 3 Certificate at Aquinas College

Course description

The learner will undertake a programme of assessments designed to assess not only their knowledge and understanding of business but also the way in which this knowledge and understanding can shape their practical skills, in the beginning, to think and realise their own plans about business.
Taking this course will provide the learner with the ability to:
Develop a critical understanding of organisations and the market they serve.
Acquire a range of skills including decision-making and problem-solving.
Be aware of current structures of business and business practice in different sectors and environments.
Acquire a good grounding in business for higher education and employment.
A student taking the L3 Applied Business Certificate should be hard working and conscientious and really enjoy producing coursework as well as being strong in exams.

Course content

The 1st Year Level 3 Certificate In Applied Business
Each unit is 33.3% – (66.6% externally assessed)

The 2nd Year Level 3 Extended Certificate in Applied Business
Each Unit is 16.6% (50% of the work being externally assessed)

Entry requirements

Grade 4 in both GCSE English Language and Maths + 4 grade Cs in other subjects (which could include English Literature grade 4) 

Future opportunities

This course will lead you onto an Apprenticeship or University Degree.
(It is graded P, M,D,D* and is awarded relevant entry points)

Further information

The department takes part in a variety of subject and unit related trips. Our Future In Europe, hosted in Paris, and numerous visits to local businesses. In the lower sixth, we make a compulsory visit to Chester Zoo and base a whole assignment on it.
