Rugby Academy at Palmer's College

Course description

This is an opportunity to develop rugby performance, skills, tactics and fitness, while studying a full-time academic timetable. You will choose from available courses that will fit around training/playing rugby.

That will generally be either 3/4 AS-levels or BTEC Diploma combinations, which will be discussed at your interview.

Entry requirements

Students will need enthusiasm, commitment and a willingness to develop as a rugby player, as well as a dedication to their chosen route of academic study.

A certain level of ability is required and will be assessed during trials that will be held in the summer before enrolment.

Future opportunities

The Rugby Academy will enable students to develop as rugby players without neglecting an academic route of study that will provide a secure pathway into employment or higher education.

Further information

The Rugby Academy is a link between Palmer's College and Thurrock RFC. Being part of the Rugby Academy will give you the opportunity to represent the College at rugby against other colleges. This will involve training/playing fixtures on Wednesday afternoons and also training sessions at designated times during the week.

Applicants will need to apply by the 1 March 2015 in order to participate in the trials that will be held shortly after this. More information at www.palmers.ac.uk
