Business (BTEC) Level 3 National Diploma at Rivington and Blackrod High School and Sixth Form
Understanding the way a business operates is essential for any student wishing to pursue a career in the commercial world.
Business employers value employees who are able to communicate effectively both verbally and using electronic communication methods. BTEC Business provides opportunities for you to develop your communication skills as you progress through the course. This
can be both through presentations and discussions in which they have the opportunity to express their opinions.
3 Mandatory units and 1 optional unit. Unit 1 – Exploring Business, Unit 2 – Developing a Marketing Campaign, Unit 3 – Personal and Business Finance, Unit 4 – Managing an event.
5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, OR a BTEC level 2 qualification in Business or a related area.
This course will allow students to apply their learning through practical assessments in the form of internally assessed assignments and externally assessed tasks and written exams.
The Business (BTEC) Level 3 National Diploma is the equivalent of 2 A Levels.
BTEC Business studies provides an excellent foundation to continue the subject further into a range of business related university courses. Business studies relates to what happens when you finish education and will combine well with any other subject you learn. Once you finish education, you will either work for a business or yourself. The theory you learn on this course will give you that understanding on what it will take when you enter the world of work.
