UK and Overseas Holiday Representatives Diploma Level 3 at St Helens College

Course description

This advanced level course is designed for aspiring holiday representatives, with a strong interest in working within the UK or overseas.

You will learn how to respond to emergency situations, as well as understand the roles of a holiday resort representative, chalet host and holiday park host.

Throughout this exciting course you will undertake interesting trips within the UK and overseas and hear from experienced guest speakers within the industry.

Course content

During this course, you will cover the following units:

  • Tour operators products and services
  • Overseas holiday representatives
  • Overseas resort operations
  • Responding to emergency situations in tourism destinations
  • Package holidays
  • Ski chalet hosts
  • Holiday park hosts

Entry requirements

You will need four GCSEs at grade C, including English, or a level 2 diploma in travel and tourism.

To maximise your employment opportunities, you will need to be aged 18 upon completion of this course.

English and maths forms an important part of your future, ensuring you achieve the best success in your chosen career. But don't worry, if you haven't got the desired grades, we will still have a course available for you.


You will be assessed through a combination of short written tests, case studies, presentations and role plays.

Financial information

If you are a school leaver, aged 16-18, (under the age of 19 on or before 31st August 2016), you do not pay tuition fees or examination and registration fees and may be eligible for additional support depending on your financial situation.

Once you've completed this course, you'll be ready to launch your career in travel and tourism, one of the most exciting and fastest growing industries.

Career opportunities include overseas resort representative, transfer representative and children's representative, chalet host or resort courier.

In addition, you will receive full support from tutors when applying for job vacancies.
