Geography at Madeley Academy
There are four units in the GCSE Geography course. Unit 1 and Unit 2 look at both human and physical geography, focusing on specific case studies in each area. Unit 3 is the decision making exercise and encourages students to develop problem solving techniques and the ability to make and explain their decision.
Students will study current issues such as:
- climate change and sustainable development
- uneven development and alternative futures
- differences and similarities between peoples' views of the world, its environments, societies and cultures
No Formal Entry Requirements.
In Unit 4 pupils complete their controlled assessment.Students have to complete fieldwork before producing a piece of work under controlled conditions.
