Mathematics AS/A2 Level at Cecil Jones College

Course description

You will learn the fundamental and beautiful universal truths. You will study the relationship between the abstract and the specific. You will learn to think deeply about patterns and numbers. You will also be challenged about statistical facts and model real-life scenarios.

Entry requirements

Five A*-C including a grade B or higher in Maths.


You will have end of academic year assessments including two core mathematics modules and a mechanics module in AS. In A2 you will study a further two core mathematics modules and another module from mechanics, statistics or decision maths.

Future opportunities

Mathematics students are in great demand for their knowledge and ability to apply intellectual techniques to problem solving. Here are some of the possible career opportunities: Accountant, Architect, Surveyor, Engineer and Pilot.
