ICT USERS BTEC Level 1 Diploma (QCF) at Shooters Hill Sixth Form College

Course description

This is a one-year course designed to help students develop a range of employability skills and techniques, understanding, personal qualities and attitudes essential for success in working life.

There are excellent career opportunities for all those with qualifications in Information Technology. BTEC Level 1 forms a solid basis for progression towards advanced ICT Vocational qualifications at Level 2 and 3 at the Campus.

Students will need to pass all units to achieve the qualification. Some units are indicated above. Many units are available and can change from year to year.

The course involves an amount of self-directed study and students are expected to work both independently and as part of a team. A variety of teaching and learning methods will be used, including activity based exercises, demos and case studies.

A range of assessment methods used, and all units will be assessed through assignment evidence. Students will also study Maths and English alongside this course to prepare them for work or higher level study.

Entry requirements

Applicants require GCSEs in any subjects, grades D-G, or BTEC Skills for Working Life (ICT).
