Machinist at Rolls-Royce
Generally working to rotational shift patterns, Machinists are responsible for manufacturing a range of engine parts using a variety of methods and machines. This involves interpreting engineering drawings, so you'll also be trained to work to a fine degree of accuracy using manual and electronic measuring instruments.
You'll learn turning, milling, and grinding, getting to grips with computer numerically controlled machines (CNC) as well as hand-operated equipment.
