Level 1 Business, Accounting and IT at Telford College Of Arts And Technology - TCAT

Course description

This is a practical professional course that will teach you to plan and
use IT systems and software to meet requirements, use a software
application to design, create and edit documents, access and retrieve
information through IT communications i.e. web design, imaging.
You will also learn about many aspects of the working world
including IT security, spreadsheets to manage finance, databases,
using mobile devices, presentation software, improving productivity
in the office environment and setting up an IT system and how these
work. Full Time Study Programmes are built around a collection of
key elements which all students benefit from, these include:
 
• Main Qualification in the subject of your choice
• English & mathematics qualifications for all students who have not
yet achieved A*- C grade in either subject
• Work Experience or External Work Placement which is planned
with you at the start of your course and links to your career goals
and ambitions
• Weekly Tutorial with your personal tutor
• A wide range of Enrichment Activities to support your broader
skills, such as teamwork or communication

Entry requirements

2 GCSE E-F English & Maths D or below 

Assessment

Portfolio building and assignments, with some external tests in
English and maths.
