Product Design Level 3 Diploma at Bath College

Course description

Are you creative and innovative? Do you enjoy the challenge of technical and practical problem solving? Do you want to learn vocational skills? Everything we encounter on a daily basis has undergone a complex design process prior to manufacture. Product Design explores the relationship between products and the people that use them. This three-dimensional design course will explore the relationship between engineering and design skills and lay the foundations for students intending to pursue a career in product design.

  • • Model making and prototyping
  • • Materials technology
  • • Sustainable design
  • • Energy sources
  • • Design history

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs, including English language and maths at grade C or above, or a UAL Level 2 Diploma at merit level overall (with merits in all core units). This course would be particularly appropriate for students studying GCSEs in Science or DT.


You will be assessed through coursework.

Future opportunities

Progress on to product related undergraduate courses or design related careers.
